La Puente : Council OKs Zone Change

A measure that will allow four homes to be built on a half-acre lot previously limited to a single-family residence was tentatively approved by the City Council on Tuesday.
The council voted 4 to 0 in favor of the zone change at 1416 California Ave., despite protests from some residents that the project does not provide adequate play space for children.
The change, from single-family residential to low-density multiple-family residential, conforms with the city’s General Plan, the wide-ranging blueprint for planning and development, officials said.
