CASTAIC : Contract Awarded for Jail Power Plant
- Share via
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has awarded a $20.4-million contract to a Pasadena firm, Parsons Main Inc., to operate and maintain the cogeneration plant and waste-water facility at the Peter J. Pitchess jail.
The plant, which produces electricity, was added to the county jail in 1986.
According to a county staff report, the $20.4 million amounts to less than the amount now budgeted to operate the plant.
The plant requires eight operators to run, not including maintenance and supervisory personnel.
