Robbie Conal: The Statement of an Artist
After reading the article on Conal, I had four quick thoughts:
* It was relieving to read an article in The Times that wasn’t just a reworked press release from the Conal compound.
* If Conal knew anything about documentary filmmaking, he would know that documentary filmmakers are not rolling in money like he is.
* Since my tax dollars are spent cleaning up Conal’s pseudo-art (via the Department of Public Works), maybe Conal should donate to the DPW the money he receives selling his paintings. Make this man pay for the mess he makes.
* His condescending attitude is one of a tired, old man. It is time that he move into a different medium because his age is showing.
