Michael Jackson Said to Be Suing L.A. Gear: L.A. Gear Inc. said entertainer Michael Jackson has filed a $44-million countersuit against the company alleging breach of contract, among other things. The company, which already has a suit pending against Jackson for breach of contract and other claims, said it will “vigorously prosecute its lawsuit and oppose” Jackson’s action. L.A. Gear added that it expects to receive damages from Jackson for “his failure to meet his contractual obligations.” The suits stem from marketing and advertising agreements between Jackson and L.A. Gear.
