Countywide : Red Cross Seeks Toys for Needy Children
- Share via
The Orange County chapter of the American Red Cross is collecting new toys for homeless and low-income children.
The toys will be given to the children at two holiday celebrations, Saturday in Santa Ana and Sunday in San Juan Capistrano.
Last year, the Orange County chapter distributed 10,000 toys to 4,000 needy children, according to spokeswoman Judy Iannacone. Among the gift recipients were children who had been victims of disasters, such as fires in their homes.
At this year’s holiday parties, children will also meet Santa Claus, make craft projects and have a chance to win canned goods and other food.
The Red Cross has 71 toy drives in schools and businesses around the county. For further information, call (714) 835-5381, Ext. 491.
