Baby Bell to Offer Cable TV: A unit of Bell Atlantic Corp., a regional phone firm based in Philadelphia, agreed to team up with a new Pennsylvania company, FutureVision of America Corp., to transmit over its phone lines 60 channels of interactive cable television and information services to 38,000 homes and businesses in Dover Township, N.J. The service, one of the first since phone companies were freed last summer to offer video services over their wires, would compete directly against the existing cable operator.
