Kirov’s ‘Nutcracker’ Cast Announced

Casting has been announced for the Kirov Ballet “Nutcracker,” Dec. 22-Jan. 3 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

The dancers scheduled in the roles of Masha and the Prince duplicate “Nutcracker” casting from earlier this month at the Orange County Performing Arts Center--with one major exception. Kirov principal Farukh Ruzimatov will appear five times at the Pavilion in his first Southland performances since 1989.

Tue., Dec. 22, 8 p.m.: Larissa Lezhnina (Masha), Farukh Ruzimatov (Prince).

Wed., Dec. 23, 2 p.m.: Lezhnina, Ruzimatov.

Sat., Dec. 26, 2 p.m.: Irina Chistyakova, Alexander Gulyayev.

Sat., Dec. 26, 8 p.m.: Lezhnina, Ruzimatov.

Sun., Dec. 27, 2 p.m.: Veronica Ivanova, Victor Baranov.

Sun., Dec. 27, 7:30 p.m.: Zhanna Ayupova, Igor Zelensky.

Tue., Dec. 29, 2 p.m.: Chistyakova, Gulyayev.

Tue., Dec. 29, 8 p.m.: Lezhnina, Ruzimatov.
