Allen Wallace, 39, former publicity director for the Bella Lewitzky Dance Company and the Dance Gallery, both of Los Angeles, and a former director for the Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance in New York. Wallace was founder and director of Preservation Wayne, a nonprofit organization devoted to the preservation and restoration of buildings in his native Michigan. The group received the National Trust for Historic Preservation Honor Award. He then joined the Graham organization, and moved in 1986 to Los Angeles, where he helped publicize several ballet and opera companies. He joined the Dance Gallery and Lewitzky in 1987. With Deborah Oliver he formed an artist management firm whose clients included the Los Angeles Theatre Center, Cal State L.A. and the Jazz Tap Ensemble. In Los Angeles on Saturday of the complications of AIDS, said his longtime companion, Michael Lombardo.
