CALABASAS : Council to Consider Suit to Block Project
- Share via
The Calabasas City Council will discuss Wednesday whether the city should sue to prevent construction of the huge Ahmanson Ranch housing project proposed for the Simi Hills in Ventura County.
Calabasas officials have opposed the 3,050-home development, approved in December by the Ventura County Board of Supervisors. Although the project is entirely within Ventura County, most of its adverse effects--such as increased traffic--will be felt by Los Angeles County residents.
Calabasas and other opponents of the project have until next week to decide whether they will sue to block the development or continue to negotiate with the Ahmanson Land Co. for concessions.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
