Pannell Kerr Forster Seeks Chapter 11 Protection: The former accounting firm of Pannell Kerr Forster, which has spun off most of its U.S. offices as separate business units, filed for bankruptcy court protection in Los Angeles. Once the ninth-largest U.S. accounting firm, Pannell Kerr in the last few years drastically reduced its size because of declining business. But some creditors, including real estate lessors, have threatened to sue former partners for rentals, said Harold Gutenberg, former general counsel of Pannell Kerr.
