Pomona : Police Contract Approved
The City Council has approved a three-year contract with the Pomona Police Officers Assn. that will give police officers a new holiday, Martin Luther King Day, and will increase city payments for health insurance but will delay any pay hikes for a year and a half.
The agreement calls for the city to undertake a survey of salaries in comparable cities in 1994 and to raise Pomona pay to the average.
Police officers would receive pay increases of up to 5% on July 1, 1994. Any additional amount needed to raise Pomona pay to the average of other cities would be phased in over the following 18 months.
