Residents are needed to serve on the city’s Redevelopment and Residential Rehabilitation Committee, officials said.
The purpose of the committee is to promote community understanding of the redevelopment of housing and commercial properties within the redevelopment area. The committee also reviews and suggests possible modifications of the existing redevelopment plan for the downtown area.
Recently, the committee’s role has been expanded to serve as an advisory body to the City Council on housing-related issues citywide.
Members include residents and business owners in the redevelopment area, representatives of businesses from outside the redevelopment zone and other interested residents.
People wishing to serve on the committee are asked to submit a letter detailing their interest and background information by Jan. 22 to the Redevelopment and Residential Rehabilitation Committee, P.O. Box 1200, Costa Mesa, Calif. 92628-1200.
