A 66-year-old Port Hueneme woman died after she was struck by a car while walking across a street in Oxnard, authorities said Monday.
Amelia Moreno Arreguin died in the emergency room at St. John’s Regional Medical Center from head and chest injuries, Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens said.
Oxnard Police Department traffic investigator Randey Cole said Arreguin was crossing Hemlock Street at Fisher Drive about 5:45 p.m. Sunday evening when she was hit by a car driven by a 17-year-old Fillmore youth.
Arreguin was outside of the crosswalk when she was hit, Cole said.
Cole said no charges have been filed, but police are investigating the case.
