A man believed to have committed a dozen thefts in the San Fernando Valley in the past two months was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of robbing an Encino bank, Los Angeles police said.
Louis Logan, 31, a transient, was recognized by a bank teller when he walked into the Union Federal Bank at 15962 Ventura Blvd., one of the banks he is suspected of robbing, Detective Joe Getherall said. The man left the bank without incident, but the teller called police.
Logan went next door and robbed two tellers at the Capital Bank of California and was about to flee when a patrol car pulled up and officers arrested him, Getherall said.
Officers found money in Logan’s pant pockets and other evidence linking him to the robbery, Getherall said. He is suspected in a dozen robberies starting Nov. 18 in the West Valley and Van Nuys areas, police said.
