KCOP Movie Bleeps

I applaud KCOP-TV’s New Year’s Day movie marathon (“TV Rings Out the Old, Rings In the New,” Dec. 31). It is a refreshing alternative to traditional holiday programming, i.e. football, and a real treat for movie buffs.

One of the selling points for the marathon is that the films are uncut and commercial-free. How to justify, then, that “All the President’s Men” was “bleeped” for profanity? Was this an oversight or an interpretation by station management of what constitutes “uncut”?NANCY SWAIM
