ROUNDUP : Hart Tops Burroughs Despite 46 by Colon

Despite a school-record 46 points from senior guard Gabe Colon, Burroughs High fell to Hart, 82-80, Friday night in a wild Foothill League basketball game at Burroughs.
Colon broke the school record of 43 points set by former UCLA star Lynn Shackelford.
Colon made 12 of 17 shots from three-point range and 16 of 24 overall. The 12 three-pointers is one short of the Southern Section record.
Burroughs (5-8, 1-1 in league play) trailed by as many as 16 points before mounting a comeback. Matt Steffe (27 points) made a free throw to complete a three-point play in the closing moments.
Dane Sanders had 29 points for Hart and Mike Merina scored 21 for Burroughs.

Notre Dame 58, St. Bernard 53--Trailing by six midway through the fourth quarter, Notre Dame (15-3, 6-0) came back behind Glen Carson and Ryan Stromsborg, who hit back-to-back three-point shots to tie the score.
Ventura 66, San Marcos 56--Anthony McCurtis scored a team-high 20 points to lead Ventura (13-2, 5-0) in a Channel League game at San Marcos.
Crespi 81, Harvard-Westlake 58--Senior guard Jeff Luderer scored a game-high 25 points and added 11 assists to lead host Crespi (7-9, 3-3) in a Mission League game. Scott Garson had 20 points for Harvard (5-12, 1-5).
Montclair Prep 97, Maranatha 61--Freshman guard Jerome Joseph scored a game-high 26 points and 6-foot-7 junior center Greg Rosen totaled 17 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots to lead the visiting Mounties in a nonleague game.
St. Genevieve 83, La Salle 61--Ryan McGinnis scored 17 points and added 16 rebounds to lead St. Genevieve (9-7, 2-0) in a Camino Real League game. Jeremy Iaccino added 16 points.
Santa Clara 67, Calabasas 39--The Coyotes (3-11, 0-2) proved to be easy prey for the Saints, who moved to 3-0 in the Frontier League behind Dave Varela (20 points) and Brian Clark (16). Mike Dye had 15 for Calabasas.
Bishop Montgomery 67, Alemany 49--The Indians (5-11, 1-5) lost their fifth consecutive Mission League game despite 13 points from Chris Walker.
Oak Park 62, Carpinteria 54--Nick Rattray scored 14 points and Brandon Creason added 13 for Oak Park in the Tri-Valley League game.
Village Christian 78, Western Christian 34--Dave Fennell, the all-time leading scorer at Village Christian, scored 25 points and grabbed 20 rebounds in an Alpha League win.
Burbank 46, Saugus 34--Burbank was patient and improved to 6-8, 2-1 in the Foothill League. Mike Jonas led the Bulldogs with 12 points.
Paraclete 78, Bishop 69--It was snowing in Bishop, but the Spirits (6-8, 3-1) weren’t cold in this High Desert League game. John Birk scored 19 off the bench.
Glendale 54, Hoover 52--Edwin Bonilla scored 13 points and the Dynamiters (12-5, 2-1) held off a determined fourth-quarter Hoover rally led by Tornado senior forward Chad Reese in a Pacific League game at Glendale.
Hueneme 58, Dos Pueblos 48--Wendell Nunnery scored 15 points and the Vikings (10-4, 5-0) remained unbeaten in the Channel League.
Crescenta Valley 56, Arcadia 54--Adam Jacobsen scored 33 points for the Falcons (14-2, 2-1) but he fouled out with seven minutes left in the Pacific League game.
Thousand Oaks 72, Royal 40--Nick Foster scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, and Paul Foster totaled 16 points and 12 rebounds as the senior twins led Thousand Oaks (15-1, 5-0) to a convincing Marmonte League win.
Peter Lauer added 10 points and David Nowak contributed five points and five assists.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Hart 43, Burroughs 33--Point guard LaCresha Clark scored a game-high 14 points to lead host Hart (11-5, 2-0) in a Foothill League game.
Burbank 47, Saugus 39--Mandy Villasenor scored 14 points and teammate Sarah Goodlaw added 12 as the Bulldogs (9-5, 2-1) won a Foothill League game at home.
Nordhoff 75, Cate 38--Rachel McSorley scored 21 points and Gretchen Wachter scored 13 and had five steals to help Nordhoff (15-0) win a nonleague game.
MEN’S BASKETBALL
Antelope Valley 87, Mt. San Jacinto 77--John Puckett scored 24 points and Brian Wilcox totaled 16 points, nine assists and six rebounds as the Marauders (14-6, 3-2) handed Mt. San Jacinto (16-4, 3-1) a Foothill Conference defeat.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Quartz Hill 3, Littlerock 3--Toine Jager of Littlerock had three goals.
