California IN BRIEF : LAKEPORT : Small Quakes Hit One Hour Apart

Two moderate earthquakes struck about an hour apart near Clearlake, rattling dishes and setting off calls to fire stations and the sheriff’s office. There were no reports of injury or damage after either a magnitude 4.0 earthquake that hit at 3:27 p.m. or a magnitude 3.6 quake at 4:24 p.m., according to the seismographic station at UC Berkeley.
