Sheriff’s investigators are looking for two customers of a neighborhood market in Camarillo who are suspected of stealing a bank deposit bag containing nearly $3,500, authorities said Tuesday.
The theft occurred about 9:15 a.m. Monday at the Rancho Las Posas Market on Las Posas Road after the proprietor prepared a bank deposit and left it in a bag in the small store’s office, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Keith Lazz.
The owner left the bag in the office to wait on two men whom he said he recognized from previous visits to the store, but became concerned when the pair split up, with one leaving the store before the other, Lazz said.
Upon checking the office later, the owner discovered that the bank bag and its contents were missing and notified authorities, Lazz said.
