Super Bowl XXVII : Sports Bars Will Be Putting on a Spread

As many as 750 million people around the world are expected to watch the Super Bowl on television. Because they have to eat, too, stores everywhere have stocked up on goodies.

At sports bars, preparations are under way for game day. Most agree that nothing compares to Super Bowl Sunday.

Legends in Costa Mesa is offering a $14.95 prix-fixe southwestern barbecue, which includes appetizers, red oak grilled tri-tip of beef, a quarter of a chicken, corn on the cob, salad, baked beans and garlic bread. The Costa Mesa Legends opens at 10 a.m.; the game starts at 3 p.m. In Long Beach, there will be shrimp by the pound.

At Champions, a sports bar at many Marriott hotels, including the one in Irvine, the menu ranges from appetizers to T-bone steaks. One Super Bowl special at the Irvine Marriott is all-you-can-eat barbecue beef short ribs for $7.95.
