Record for Platinum Software: Platinum Software stock, which has more than doubled since the company went public last fall, set a record Wednesday for the second day in a row.
Shares of the Irvine-based maker of financial and management software closed at $38.25, up 75 cents in trading Wednesday on the NASDAQ exchange. The day before, shares climbed $2 to close at $37.50.
Platinum officials reportedly drew an enthusiastic response from potential investors Tuesday at Montgomery Securities’ technology conference in San Jose. The company’s stock opened at $14 per share when it went public Oct. 21.
The company recently announced plans to sell an additional 2.5 million shares. Today, executives planned to start a program to travel across the country to interest investors in the stock.
