‘Gorilla Agent’ Is Target of Hunt

MIAMI — The most wanted person in Miami is a federal agent who dressed as a gorilla to help apprehend a zookeeper.
“Sorry, you can’t talk to him, but everybody’s calling, everybody wants to. It’s sort of like the movie of the week,” a spokesman for the federal prosecutor’s office said Wednesday.
The unidentified agent for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service earlier this week donned a gorilla suit and crawled into a crate to help snare a Mexican zoo director who was accused of trying to smuggle the animal out of the country in violation of the Endangered Species Act.
The incident at Opa-Locka Airport near Miami, including the startled suspect who began screaming and reportedly tried to jump six feet from the cargo plane to the runway when the “gorilla” told him he was under arrest, is on video. But so far the tape has not been made public.
