SUPER PROBLEM: Shelters here for battered women applaud NBC’s decision to run a public service announcement about domestic violence during today’s Super Bowl. . . . Studies show the big game results in an increase in spouse abuse calls to hot lines and shelters. Says Sandy Condello of Human Options, a Laguna Beach center: “The game means an increase in drinking in front of the TV, and alcohol increases the chance of abuse. It also tends to result in more severe abuse.”
