Readers Were Moved by Arthur Ashe, and by Downey’s Tribute

The world is a sadder place now with the passing of Arthur Ashe. Not since Jackie Robinson has an athlete transcended his sport to contribute so much to the human race.
The integrity and grace he demonstrated on the tennis court carried over into the other areas in which he excelled; as an author, educator, commentator and human-rights activist. His contribution to improving the situation in South Africa must not be underestimated.
What a fine decent gentleman in every sense of the word and what a tragic loss for mankind.
Advantage, heaven.
