VENTURA : Hit-and-Run Driver Critically Hurts Man

A Ventura man remained in critical condition Friday evening after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver in downtown Ventura, officials said.
Paul Dupree, 36, was crossing Main Street in the 1500 block Thursday evening when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle that paused briefly before continuing, said Ventura Police Cpl. John Turner, a traffic investigator.
Dupree, who suffered major head injuries, was hospitalized at Ventura County Medical Center, Turner said.
Police ask that anyone who witnessed the 6:49 p.m. accident call them at 339-4435.
