Coach: Alan Dugard (third year)
1992: 30-4, 9-1 in league; Defending 3-A Southern Section champion; won Sea View League.
Key returners: Alison Johnsen, Jr., center fielder, batted .509 with a home run, stole 41 bases, selected to The Times’ All-County first team; Debbie Nasitka, Sr., shortstop, drove in 16 runs, batted .381 and stole 18 bases; Jessica Montgomery, Sr., first base, drove in 14 runs, batted .330 and scored 12 runs; Teresa Dunn, Sr., outfielder/pitcher, 0.81 ERA; Deanna Black, Sr., third baseman, hit .333 with 17 RBIs.
Key newcomers: Cory Washington, Fr., pitcher/second base, sister of Woodbridge standout Stacy Washington, now pitching at Yale; Carrie Brown, So., shortstop/pitcher; Theresa Duncan, So., pitcher.
Outlook: Defense and speed make Woodbridge a contender. Last year, the Warriors stole 121 bases and made only four errors en route to the 3-A title. Dugard, the 1992 3-A Southern Section Coach of the Year, sees his 1993 team with similar strengths, but without the dominating pitching of Washington and Alison Ward, the 3-A section Player of the Year and Sea View League MVP, now at Northwestern.
