School Prayer
I find it discouraging to realize that a nation founded on the need for religious freedom for all has denied its countrymen the right to have prayer in school or at school events.
The last several years have been a return, by this nation, to the familiar roots of home, family and religion. Regardless of what religious or spiritual beliefs we may hold, the majority of Americans are believers and are being denied their right to practice their religious beliefs by a minority of nonbelievers.
Is the potential harm of the practice of prayer truly harmful or offensive to these people? Are we teaching a select few that they do not have to practice tolerance of their fellow man? It is time that the majority of religious Americans stand up as a single voice and overturn this travesty. Give prayer back to the schools. It is a matter of only a few minutes of time.
