‘Down’ Is Up: “Falling Down,” Warner Bros.’ movie starring Michael Douglas as a man stretched to the breaking point in Los Angeles, is in the top spot at the box office with $7.8 million after its first weekend, according to early estimates. In second place for the weekend is Columbia’s “Groundhog Day” with an estimated gross of $7.6 million. Disney’s “Homeward Bound” is next with $5.6 million. “The Crying Game,” Miramax’s six-time Oscar-nominated film, takes fourth place for the second week in a row with $4.7 million. In fifth is the romance “Sommersby” from Warner Bros. with $4.3 million.
