In other boys’ semifinals:
Dominguez 61, Crescenta Valley 51--Despite a game-high 29 points from senior guard Adam Jacobsen, Crescenta Valley (22-5) was eliminated in a Division II-AA game at Long Beach State.
The Falcons led, 51-50, after a pair of free throws by sophomore Richard O’Neill with two minutes to play, but Crescenta Valley did not score again. Jacobsen, who scored nine of the Falcons’ 14 fourth-quarter points, made five three-point baskets in the game. No other Crescenta Valley player scored more than six points.
Crescenta Valley took a 38-30 lead--its biggest of the game--with 51 seconds to play in the third quarter on a pair of free throws by Jacobsen.
However, Dominguez (25-2), led by sophomore Thomas Prince, who scored 26 points, answered with four points at the end of the third quarter and eight points to begin the fourth quarter to take a 42-38 lead with six minutes left.
Jacobsen ended the drought with a three-pointer, his fourth. His fifth three-pointer gave the Falcons a 49-48 lead with 2:48 to play.
