SANTA CLARITA : Canyon High Teacher Arrested

A Canyon High School teacher was arrested Monday on suspicion of attempted murder of his former girlfriend.
Robert Joseph Schulte, 36, was arrested after friends of Dawn Clelland called the Sheriff’s Department asking for help, according to an arrest report.
Clelland, 23, told deputies that Schulte had throttled her and repeatedly said “I’m going to kill you” during an argument Monday afternoon in the parking lot of Clelland’s Canyon Country apartment complex.
The argument was over the custody of their 18-month-old daughter, the report said.
Schulte, an English teacher, was held in lieu of $1-million bond.
