Ramirez to Make Main-Event Debut Tonight in Irvine

IRVINE — Ricky Ramirez, a promising welterweight from Santa Ana, makes his main-event debut tonight at the Irvine Marriott.
Ramirez (7-0) takes on Joe Herrera (17-7) of Los Angeles. Carlos Hernandez (8-0-1), who trains with Ramirez at the Westminster Boxing Club, fights in the six-round semi-main event. Hernandez goes against Sergio Baez (3-1) of San Francisco.
Tickets--priced at $35, $32, and $25--go on sale at 10 a.m. today at the grand ballroom for the six-bout card, which starts at 7:30 p.m.
