O’Donnell Signs Offer With Buccaneers
Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Neil O’Donnell signed an offer sheet with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that would make him the highest-paid player in franchise history.
Because O’Donnell, who made $250,000 with the Steelers last season, is a restricted free agent, the Steelers will have seven days to match the Buccaneers’ three-year proposal worth $8.2 million.
The offer includes a $1.325-million signing bonus and yearly salaries of $2.15 million, $2.3 million and $2.4 million.
If the Steelers do not match the offer, Pittsburgh would receive a third-round draft choice as compensation.
