Saddleback 7, Cypress 5--Craig Ainsworth allowed seven hits, walked one and had nine strikeouts for visiting Saddleback (14-8, 5-7). Cade Gaspar pitched the ninth for his first save.

Gaspar also had three hits, including a double, and drove in two runs for Saddleback (14-8, 5-7). Nathan Malagon added two hits, including his third home run of the season, and drove in two runs.

Cypress’ Kevin Clark hit a home run and drove in three runs for Cypress (14-10, 6-6).

In the Saddleback Diving Pentathlon competition:

Beck wins--David Beck of Saddleback won the overall title with 419.85 points with Brandon Hedges of Riverside finishing second with 404.05. Andrew Triplett of Orange Coast was fifth overall.

Shannon Roberson of Saddleback took second in the women’s competition with 330.15 points. Winner Melissa Ulmer of Palomar had 358.10. Roberson won the three-meter competition and finished third in the one-meter.

Cynthia Villalobos of Golden West finished sixth overall.
