If you’re going to get caught with your hand in the cookie jar, it had better be worth it. Anna Lena’s soft oatmeal cookies definitely are. Karen Snyder took her grandmother’s classic recipe for a soft oatmeal cookie and gave it pizzazz, adding tart dried cranberries to the sweet dough. The results are irresistible.

The cookies don’t come in the mail; the mix does. The dry ingredients are pre-measured, and all you need to do is add egg and melted butter and mix. Pop them in the oven and 10 minutes later you have two dozen delicious, freshly baked cookies. When someone compliments you on your terrific cookies, simply say: “Thank you. I made them myself.”
