Fond Thoughts About Airport
Besides the convenience and speed factor, one reason I love Burbank Airport is because it’s one of the last major airports where passengers must walk out onto the Tarmac to board the aircraft. (“An Air of History,” Times Valley Edition, March 22). To me, that somehow represents an era of romance soon to be lost. Remember the last scene of “Casablanca”?
I’m all for progress, but I really don’t look forward to a new, more modern Burbank Airport. How sad that it may soon simply become nothing more than a mini-LAX.
