Virgil Hill defended his World Boxing Assn. light-heavyweight championship with a split decision over Frenchman Fabrice Tiozzo at Levallois-Perret, France. Hill (35-1) scored knockdowns in the first two rounds, but had to rally at the finish against Tiozzo (23-1).
