Weiner Wins Easter Bowl Tournament

MIAMI — Cypress’ Glenn Weiner defeated Eric Taino of Jersey City, N.J., to win the boys’ 18 division of the Easter Bowl Junior Tennis Championships Saturday at the Doral Resort & Country Club.
Weiner, 16, who attends the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Fla., beat Taino 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.
Weiner advanced to the final by beating Scott Humphries of Alamo, Calif., 7-6 (7-2), 6-2. Taino, the second-seeded player, beat Eric Lin of Anaheim, 7-6 (8-6), 1-6, 7-6 (7-3).
