Dwane Casey, former Kentucky assistant basketball coach, can return to an NCAA school without restrictions.
An NCAA appeals committee ruled Monday that the final year of a conditional five-year probation from coaching at NCAA-member schools, imposed in 1989, should be lifted.
Casey was a member of the coaching staff in 1989 when Kentucky was placed on probation by the NCAA for recruiting and academic rules violations. He was the only member of the coaching staff that included head coach Eddie Sutton and assistant James Dickey to receive a penalty.
