New Line Cinema’s Profit Soars 69%: The independent movie company said its first-quarter income was $3.6 million, against $2.1 million a year earlier. New Line said its profit was boosted by the theatrical performance of the comedy “National Lampoon’s Loaded Weapon 1” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Back In Time.” Also contributing were home video revenues from “The Player” and “Honeymoon in Vegas.”
