The City Council has extended for another year a contract with a public relations firm to provide marketing expertise for the city’s Redevelopment Agency.
The council this week unanimously voted to continue with Braun Ketchum’s marketing, public relations and community work at a cost of $100,000. It will be the second year of a two-year, $200,000 contract, which the city signed with the Los Angeles-based firm.
In a report to the council, Assistant City Manager Tim O’Donnell said the city staff is happy with the company’s performance.
O’Donnell said that last year Braun Ketchum assisted the city with various projects, including a survey about Brea’s ability to retain businesses, and a marketing study for the downtown area. Also, the company has worked extensively with the Brea Chamber of Commerce.
This year, the company will handle issues such as affordable housing as well as business development and retention, and relations with the community and the news media, O’Donnell said.
