Tag the Taggers Law
As a Juvenile Court commissioner, I can tell you that most of our Valley taggers know the law as well, if not better than, the lawyers. They know that under the present situation it will be between three and five months from time of arrest until they appear in court.
Presently the Probation Department wants to cite taggers into traffic court, requiring an appearance within 30 days.
Unfortunately the traffic court does not have the tools to send juveniles to the hall, require more than 48 hours of community service nor impose search and seizure conditions of probation. Clearly the law must be changed to send us the taggers within 30 days from the time of arrest.
