PREP BASEBALL : Crespi Keeps Streak Alive, Losing Final

Anaheim Esperanza beat top-seeded Encino Crespi, 2-0, in a Southern Section Division I semifinal game Tuesday at Blair Field in Long Beach.
Crespi (27-3) is the 23rd consecutive No. 1-seeded team to lose in the section’s major division playoffs.
The last to win the title was Lakewood in 1970.
Esperanza (24-5) scored a run in each of the first two innings, and pitchers George Hart and Marcus Jones limited Crespi to two hits.
Woodland Hills El Camino Real 6, Sepulveda Monroe 0--Junior left-hander Randy Wolf (11-1), who pitched a perfect game against Wilmington Banning last Thursday, gave up three hits in seven innings and struck out 12 in the Conquistadores’ City Division 4-A victory at Birmingham High.
Crenshaw 4, Hollywood 3--Aaron Williard scored from third base on a wild pitch after a dropped third strike in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Cougars (24-3) a victory in a City 3-A game at Crystal Springs Park.
South Gate 7, Franklin 0--Junior right-hander Alonso Lopez (10-0) gave up three hits in seven innings to lift the Rams (25-5) to a City 3-A victory.
Goleta Dos Pueblos 4, West Covina South Hills 3--Scott Randall (14-2), a senior right-hander, struck out two and gave up one hit to help the Chargers (22-6) to a Division II victory at Northview High.
Riverside Norte Vista 10, Riverside La Sierra 1--The Braves (24-3) scored five runs on five hits in the sixth inning in a Division IV victory at the Riverside Sports Complex. Sonny Mercado, a Norte Vista senior, was three for four.
