CSUN’s Scurry 10th in NCAA Long Jump

Sophomore Derek Scurry of Cal State Northridge placed 10th in the men’s long jump Thursday in the NCAA track and field championships at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans.
Scurry, the Northridge record-holder at 26 feet 3/4 inch, leaped 24-9 in the first round, 24-0 in the second and 25-4 in the third, but was one place shy of qualifying for an additional three jumps.
