ORANGE — A 17-year-old resident of the El Modena area was shot in the lower leg Monday by someone in a car, police said.
The teen-ager, who was not identified because of his age, was hit once by a bullet that passed through his lower left calf as he walked in a residential area near Center and Earlham streets shortly after 3 p.m., Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Leonard said.
The victim was taken to Tustin Community Hospital, Leonard said.
The suspect, who fired one round from a handgun, was described as a male about 16 or 17 years old, with a thin build and a shaved head driving a brown or beige station wagon, Leonard said.
