LOS ANGELES : Woman Who Killed 2 Co-Workers Is Identified
- Share via
Authorities Thursday identified a woman who shot and killed two co-workers at a South Los Angeles factory on Wednesday.
Elena Sandoval, 56, committed suicide after gunning down Carlos Arevelo, 37, of Los Angeles, and Bertha Pantoja, 34, of Carson, police said.
The killings occurred about 4:25 p.m. at the Pacific Electricord Co., just as the day shift ended and the swing shift got under way. The graveyard shift worker shot Arevelo, a shift supervisor, outside the factory.
Police said there was no indication that Sandoval knew her victims, so detectives were trying to sort out the motive for the slayings. One of her nephews, who asked not to be identified, said in an interview that Sandoval had been very unhappy with her job and some of her co-workers.
