“SANKOFA”(U.S./Germany/Ghana/Burkina Faso; Haile Gerima; 9 p.m., Director’s Guild of America). Gerima’s black slavery epic--a co-production from America, Ghana and Burkina Faso--is impassioned, awkward, moving. A black fashion model in contemporary Ghana is mystically transported in chains back to a sugar plantation in pre-Civil War America. The cruelties in the movie are searing and burn right through the film’s narrative deficiencies.
