Sheriff’s deputies confiscated hundreds of marijuana plants in Malibu Friday in what may be the biggest indoor “pot farm” raided in county history.
A husband and wife were arrested at their rented home, where as many as 1,000 large plants were found by deputies and DEA agents, said sheriff’s spokesman Ron Spear. The plants, worth an estimated $1.25 million, were growing in two greenhouses in the 29700 block of Harvester Road, Spear said.
Spear said a tip led authorities to the home. Deputies and Drug Enforcement Administration agents served a search warrant about 1:30 p.m., he said. Victor and Linda Dejoria, both 49, were arrested. Inside the home investigators found “marijuana in various stages of processing and packaging,” Spear said.
