18-Year-Old Killed in Drive-By Shooting

An 18-year-old Canoga Park man was shot and killed in a suspected gang-related drive-by shooting involving a Mercedes-Benz, a Los Angeles police detective said Wednesday.
Ismael Diaz was standing outside an apartment complex at 20327 Saticoy St. in Winnetka, about 7:20 p.m. Tuesday when a silver late-model Mercedes-Benz, with four to five passengers, drove up. Several shots were fired, Detective Phil Quartararo said. Diaz suffered at least one gunshot wound to his upper torso and was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center. He died less than an hour later.
The gunmen fled in the Mercedes, Quartararo said. No arrests have been made.
