OPEC Meeting to Focus on Iraq: An emergency meeting is planned late this month to try to halt the plunge in prices caused by worries that the U.N. will soon allow Iraq to sell crude oil to pay for food and medicine. The news helped send oil prices rallying on the New York Mercantile Exchange in heavy trading. U.N. diplomats said last week that Baghdad may be allowed to sell oil to pay for food and medicine. Iraq has been barred from exporting oil under a U.N. embargo after invading Kuwait.
