Pollution Research & Control Corp. said its profits more than doubled in the second quarter, to $274,000 from $115,000.
The Glendale-based designer and manufacturer of air pollution measurement instruments posted revenue of $1.5 million for the quarter ending June 30, down 4% from $1.6 million a year earlier.
Pollution Research & Control said profits increased despite the decline in revenue because of higher and more profitable domestic sales, a trend the company said it expects to continue as the federal Clean Air Act of 1990 is implemented.
For the first half of 1993, Pollution Research had net income of $577,000, up 63% from $354,000 a year earlier. Revenue rose to $3.11 million from $3.07 million.
