Capital Cities/ABC and DIC Animation Form New Company: Capital Cities/ABC Video Enterprises has formed a joint venture with Burbank-based cartoon producer DIC Animation City Inc. to produce and distribute live-action and children’s animation programming. Under the new partnership, programming will be produced by DIC Entertainment. Andy Heyward, president of DIC Animation City, will be the new company’s chief executive and general partner. Capital Cities/ABC Video Enterprises will be the limited partner and distribute the programming internationally in conjunction with DIC. DIC produces such cartoon series as “Inspector Gadget” and “Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.”
